The English science curriculum at LUYA Academy covers 5 major areas of science:
Physical science – to learn about non living systems to understand the world’s natural forces.
Life science – to develop compassion for life through learning about the organic world.
Earth science – to grow an appreciation for Earth through exploring our planet’s properties.
Space science – to learn astronomy and discover the mysteries and wonders of space.
Nature of science – to grasp scientific methodologies and the principles of research.
The Chinese science course also cultivates an interest in exploration in our students, but there is a greater emphasis on scientific experimentation from forming a question to conveying the results. Students are encouraged to explore scientific questions that are guided by their curiosity, and LUYA provides the equipment and teaches the tools necessary to conduct their
scientific experiments. The course is built on a “learn by doing” premise as well as drawing from our students’ personal experiences to develop
questions and hypotheses.
